Major Galway event postponed over All Ireland Hurling Final
The organisers have apologised for the postponement
A major Galway event has apologised to its attendees after it made the decision to postpone due to the All Ireland Hurling Final.
Loughrea Agricultural Show have moved their event to Saturday August 1 so there is no clash with the weekend of Galway v Limerick.
With tens of thousands set to make the pilgrimage to Croke Park, the decision was made to make sure people would have the choice to attend both.
Organisers for the event said: “Loughrea Agri Show has had to reschedule the Show Date to Saturday August 1 as a result of the All Ireland Hurling Final being held on our original date of July 19.
“We are so sorry for the inconvenience, but it will give us time to make the day bigger and better for competitors, exhibitors, and for families to attend on the day.”
They added: “We have loads of entertainment planned throughout the day.
“Please share with anyone you know that is planning on attending or exhibiting.
“We are reaching out to everyone who has entered classes etc to update them over the coming days.”
One Galway GAA club is selling a pair of All Ireland Final Hurling tickets for just €50 - and if you don’t win those you might just win yourself a new build house instead.
Oranmore Maree GAA One Club’s WinahomeGalwayCity.com which was launched last year to soaring success has added on an extra bonus draw ahead of the Galway v Limerick clash.
The top prize of a two-bed ground floor fully furnished apartment in Woodquay is now also being matched with a separate bonus draw which could see you win golden tickets for Sunday week.
Tickets purchased for these draws are all going towards their fundraiser to develop facilities at their new state-of-the-art Renville Gaelic Grounds with the main draw for the house taking place on August 23.
But before that, GAA fanatics have the chance to win two All Ireland hurling final tickets plus an overnight stay in The Croke Park Hotel the night before the match.
Entering the Hurling Final tickets draw will also guarantee you five extra tickets for the Win a Home entry too.
All you have to do is head over to the Win A Home Galway City website and buy your ticket before the bonus draw closes at 11pm on Tuesday July 14th.
