Galway learn All-Ireland hurling final opponents

GALWAY will play Limerick in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final on Sunday July 19th.
The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final between Galway and Limerick will take place on Sunday, July 19, at 3:30pm in Croke Park.
Limerick booked their place in the decider after edging past Clare 1-21 to 1-19 in the All-Ireland semi-final. A dramatic 70th-minute goal from Aidan O'Connor proved the difference as the Shannonsiders secured their spot in the final.
The showdown between Galway and Limerick will be a repeat of the 2018 All-Ireland final, when John Kiely's men claimed the Liam MacCarthy Cup with a narrow 3-16 to 2-18 victory over the Tribesmen.
Galway reached the final with an impressive 2-26 to 1-18 win over Cork on Saturday. Micheál Donoghue's side trailed 1-13 to 1-12 at half-time, but took control after the break, outscoring Cork 0-10 to 0-1 during a dominant third quarter.Conor Cooney put the result beyond doubt deep into injury time with a late goal, sending the men in maroon and white into their first All-Ireland final since 2018.
The two finalists met earlier this year in Round 7 of the National Hurling League, where Limerick came out on top with a 2-27 to 0-31 victory.
With the final now set, supporters of both Galway and Limerick will begin the race to secure All-Ireland final tickets ahead of the eagerly anticipated clash at Croke Park.
