WATCH: Galway manager Micheal Donoghue satisfied with his side's win over Cork

GALWAY senior hurling manager Micheal Donoghue spoke to the assembled media after his side’s win over Cork in the All-Ireland semi-final.

Micheal Donoghue will now lead Galway into their All-Ireland final in two weeks time on Sunday July 19. After the Tribesmen’s tasted All-Ireland success in 2017, Galway will be hoping to end a nine year wait for the Liam McCarthy Cup.

The men in maroon and white delivered a sensational second-half performance that Cork simply had no answer to, pulling away after the interval to seal an emphatic eleven-point victory.

Limerick play Clare on Sunday evening at 4pm in the other All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship semi-final. The winners will play Galway in the All-Ireland SHC final.

“ Yeah, look, I suppose after the Leinster final with the four weeks, we just had a good regroup and just gave us the time to settle and then we had a really productive two-week build up into it, you know, similar to all our other games.,” said Micheal Donoghue.

“The lads were just really good and really honest, so it was really encouraging from our point of view. And I think after the Leinster final, you could see the confidence growing in the younger fellas, and I think they transferred that now into another good performance today,” added Donoghue.
