Embracing new technology to view houses in ‘lockdown’

Now that everybody is in ‘lockdown’ mode, estate agents have been embracing new technology to bring alternative ways of viewing properties.
O’Donnellan and Joyce have been busy filming all of their properties that are for sale and are vacant, in order to provide our customers with a virtual viewing tours.
The virtual viewing tours come with a voiceover commentary that provides a description of the property, combined with the all of the attributes for each location.
Auctioneer Colm O’Donnellan said: “The virtual viewings allow you to remotely carry out viewings and guarantees the safety of our customers and our staff.
“With Covid-19 confining people to their own homes for long stretches, it gives them the opportunity to look at the suitability of their own home. Some may even consider at some time in the future – when Covid-19 has passed – to look at downsizing and for others, it maybe be a chance at upsizing.
“You can now see what is on offer in the current market and have a tour in private of each house while not leaving the comfort of your armchair.
“Also, if you wish to have your house valued free of charge - you email us at [email protected]. Provide us with the address of your property and a brief description and we will revert to you with an indicative value.
“In response to the current guidelines on social distancing due the Covid-19 restrictions, we made the decision to temporarily close our physical office on Mary Street, our firm remains fully operational across all aspects of the business, albeit remotely,” said Mr O’Donnellan.
