The young woman held in connection with the murder of Claregalway man Kieran Cunningham has been released without charge. The woman was released from custody in Galway Garda station at five past two this afternoon. The woman, who's in her twenties, had been detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act since 2pm yesterday. Gardai extended her period of detention until her release at 2pm today. A Garda spokesperson failed to confirm if a file is being sent to the DPP but said the matter is still under investigation. 20 year-old Kieran Cunningham, one of three children from Slievefinn, died in hospital at 3am on Wednesday, from multiple stab wounds inflicted during an attack on Williamsgate Street.
