Visiting restrictions are now in place at University Hospital Galway due to an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.

To help curtail the spread of the virus, hospital management is appealing to the public not to bring children to the hospital and to adhere strictly to visiting restrictions and hygiene guidelines.

This means only essential visits should be made and should be confined to one person at a time.

All appropriate infection control measures are being taken and the visiting restrictions will remain in place until the situation has been resolved.
