TWO MEN STILL IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING BARNA HIT AND RUN

A 21 year old and a minor are still being questioned at Milstreet Garda station in connection with a fatal hit and run in Barna this morning.The pair were arrested under section four of the criminal justice act, and can be detained for up to 24 hours.A 19 year old man, who is not from County Galway, died after he was struck by a car by on a minor road near Barna Golf club at around quarter to three this morning.Locals say the young man had been attending a birthday party in the locality, and was walking on the road when the incident occured.His body was removed from the scene after midday today, and taken to University College Hospital Galway. The post mortem of the 19 year old man who died in a hit and run accident in Barna will take place tommorow.Gardaí have confirmed Assistant State pathologist Khalid Jaber, will carry out the Post Mortem.
