TRADE UNION MEETS WITH GALWAY AVIVA STAFF

Date Published: 20-Oct-2011

Workers at the Galway branch of Aviva are expected to vote for a ballot on Industrial action at this evening's trade union meeting.

Representatives from Unite are meeting with over 200 staff at the Knocknaccara call centre at 5pm.

It follows yesterday's shock announcement that AVIVA is to axe 950 jobs from its Irish operations.

It's still not clear where the jobs will be cut, and how many, if any, will be axed from Galway.
