THOUSANDS OF GALWAY EIRCOM CUSTOMERS WITHOUT PHONE SERVICE

Two thousand five hundred Eircom subscribers in the city have no telephone service today

A spokesperson for Eircom could say the problem lies with the Shantalla exchange and city numbers starting with the digits 5-6 are affected

She added the crews are working hard to restore the service which has been out since around 9 this morning

Galway city council, Galway County Council, the Town Hall Theatre and the Arts Festival box office are among those affected
