TB CONFIRMED ON ARAN ISLAND OF INIS OIRR

TB has been identified on the Aran Island of Inis Oirr.

The Department of Public Health is now offering screening for the island population of 250 people.

In a statement issued this afternoon, the department does not say how many cases have been identified but says the risk of transmission of the disease is considered to be low.

People who were identified as having close contact have already been offered screening tests.
