TAOISEACH DISMISSES CALLS FOR PUBLIC INQUIRY INTO SAVITA'S DEATH

The Taoiseach's appealed publicly and directly to Praveen Halappanavar to meet with the Chairman of the inquiry into his wife's death.
Enda Kenny's also again dismissed calls for a full public inquiry into Savita Halappanavar's death.
The 31-year-old died at University College Hospital in Galway last month, from blood poisoning, after suffering a miscarriage.
Mr Kenny's described the Chairman of the inquiry - Professor Alkumaran as a man of eminence and integrity - despite concerns from Galway Independent Senator Ronan Mullen that he's an advocate of abortion.
The Taoiseach says an independent inquiry would not conclude quickly, and he urged Mr Halappanavar to engage with the inquiry.
Speaking earlier, the solicitor representing the husband of the late Savita Halapannavar said they would press for a public inquiry.
Speaking on Galway Talks, city based solicitor Gerard O' Donnell, says Praveen Halapannavar has no faith in the HSE inquiry and will not co-operate with it.
