STRAY HORSES SEIZED IN OVERNIGHT SWOOP IN CITY

Date Published: 25-Aug-2011

Nine stray horses have been impounded after an early morning round-up across the city.

It was led by the City Council with the help of Gardai and community wardens.

The horses were seized from housing estates in the Westside, Headford Road and Ballybane areas.

The impounding of horses can cost the city council up to 1-thousand-euro per animal.

City Counillor Terry O'FLaherty says the issue needs to be dealt with urgently.
