STRAY HORSES PROBLEM IN CITY ESTATES WORSENING

Date Published: 25-Aug-2011

The situation regarding stray horses in housing estates across the city is getting worse.

That's the view of the City Council's Acting Director of Services for housing Frances Mullarkey.

It follows the seizure of nine horses from the Westside, Headford Road and Ballybane areas overnight.

It brings to 58 the number of horses already impounded this year - that's only four short of last year's total.

Frances Mullarkey has called for the public's continued vigilance to tackle the ongoing problem.
