STAFF CONTIUE TO PICKET AFTER COCA COLA ISSUES P45s

Date Published: 17-Sep-2009

Workers at Tuam's Coca Cola Plant continue to picket this morning despite being handed their P45s yesterday. The P45's were sent in the post by Coca Cola to 130 staff who have been objecting to the company's proposals to outsource jobs.Last Tursday, staff at the centre of the jobs dispute in Tuam, Dublin Waterford and Cork unamimously rejected proposals put forward by the soft drinks giant. It's understood that the P45's have come as a 'bolt out of the blue' to those involved, especially as a labour court hearing is on the agenda tommorow.
