A city councillor is calling on the Mayor of Galway to "cool it" or he could cost city ratepayers in the next budget.Councillor Niall Ó Brolcháin says Mayor Padraig Conneely could jeopardise months of hard work in an instant by taking a forceful attitude in an upcoming meeting with Environment Minister, John Gormley. The meeting has been organised by the Green Party councillor and will include the Mayor and the City Council's Corporate Policy Group.Taking place at the Custom House in Dublin on September 16th, the meeting will discuss the lack of funding for the local authority. This includes the local Government fund, funds for the Mutton Island treatment plant and funding for housing.Speaking to Galway Bay Fm News, Councillor Ó Brolcháin claims Mayor Conneely's approach will prevent reasoned argument with the Minister.Mayor Padraig Conneely responds he is just going to ask Minister Gormley to face facts.
