Refurbishment on Toghermore campus 20 times over budget

The report shows that 224 thousand euro was spent on furniture and crockery in 2011 despite having a budget of just 10 thousand set aside for this.It also shows that some 92 thousand euro was spent on furniture, a further 86 thousand on floor coverings and almost 40 thousand on furnishings.This included a sofa costing 17 hundred euro and a mirror costing 2 thousand 500 euro.A decision was made in December to wind down the 18 bed residential facility, after a report revealed fire safety shortfalls.In January, funding was sanctioned to address immediate fire safety issues enabling existing residents to remain there.
