ALONGSIDE Athenry, Corrib Rangers are the early pace setters in the Western Hygiene Supplies Premier Division. It was a good week for the city side in that they shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with defending champions West United, while also coming from behind to defeat Bohemians.Indeed, the latter also produced a shock in midweek when they defeated West and early indications are that all is not well with the Claddagh based side who have just annexed two points from nine in their opening three encounters. Now credit the production line at Salthill Devon. On Saturday afternoon at Drom they had a squad of 16 players in the U20 side that drew 3-3 with Sligo Rovers in the Eircom League. Meanwhile, on an adjoining pitch a talented Devon junior side were more than competitive when drawing with Athenry as here again 16 players were good enough to compete on favourable terms with the visitors.Hibernians, Mervue United and Oranmore have all picked up early points, with newly promoted Colmanstown the only side who seem to be struggling in the opening week of the season....Match reports and full wrap-up in this week's Sentinel
