PLANS TO EXTEND CITY HALL INCLUDED IN 3 YEAR PLAN

Half a million euro has been set aside for the possible extension of City Hall in the Council's aspirational three-year capital programme.

City manager Joe McGrath told last night's meeting of the City Council that it was important to develop the civic element of the council.

The extension would allow City Hall to promote new initiatives and prestigious events and to honour visits by appropriate individuals, groups or organisations.

At present, all civic functions and mayoral receptions are held at other city premises outside City Hall.
