After falling short in four of the five last Leinster finals, Galway were finally able to put their struggles in the Leinster Hurling finals to one side and lift the Bob O’Keefe Cup for the first time since 2018.
Darragh Neary, Aaron Niland, Conor Cooney and John Fleming all hit the back of the net in Galway’s fourteen point win over Dublin. Saturday also marked the men in maroon and white’s first victory at GAA headquarters in the Leinster SHC for the first time since 2020.
Micheal Donoghue’s side have now advanced directly into the All-Ireland semi-final on Saturday July 4th. Galway's All-Ireland semi-final opponents will be determined by the outcomes of the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
If Cork overcome Offaly, the Tribesmen will face Cork in the All-Ireland semi-final at Croke Park on Saturday, July 4, with throw-in at 3.30pm. In the other quarter-final, Leinster finalists Dublin take on Clare.
A Clare victory coupled with an Offaly win would see Galway paired with Clare in the last four. However, if both Dublin and Offaly emerge victorious, Galway would meet Offaly in the semi-final. The All-Ireland senior hurling final takes place on Sunday July 19.
