Picket at Galway Roadstone Wood sites set to continue

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Workers at Roadstone Wood in Galway have vowed to continue their picket until management opens communication with union representatives. 15 employees at the site in Two Mile Ditch in the city and at the quarry in Kilchreest have been demonstrating since Monday in a dispute over bonus payments. SIPTU argues that the bonuses are an integral part of the payment structure. The company manufactures building materials for the construction sector and staff downed tools at 20 of the firm's locations nationwide on Monday morning. Galway employee representative Pearce O'Donohoe says the industrial action will continue into next week if talks are not opened up by management.
