It's been confirmed that 103 jobs will go in Galway when Linen Supply of Ireland Ltd, which is currently in Examinership, is to close one of its plants in the city. The plant to close is based in Rahoon and is mainly involved in the washing of linen from the hotel and restaurant industry. This sector has been particularly badly hit by the recession. But LSI which supplies textile services and professional washroom hygiene solutions, has confirmed 23 jobs will be saved with the opening of a service and logistics office in the city in the coming months. The company recently carried out a review of operations at the Galway plant and concluded that it did not have a sustainable future.
