OUGHTERARD TOURIST OFFICE CLOSES

Date Published: 13-Apr-2012

The tourist office in Oughterard has been closed, and it's understood two of the four full-time staff have been served redundancy notices.

Thomas Welby, acting Chairperson of the Tourist Office, says tourist bookings and information services are unviable, and had to be discontinued.

A notice on the door today reads that the office will remain closed until April 18th.
