O CUIV TO REMAIN LOYAL TO FIANNA FAIL

Galway West TD Michael Kitt says his constituency colleague Eamon Ó' Cuív has 'a major role to play' in the renewal of the Fianna Faíl party.

He's described the resignation of O' Cuív as deputy leader last evening as 'shocking' and 'dissapointing' but is confident Ó Cuív will remain loyal to the party.

O'Cuiv stepped down saying he couldn't guarantee to support the party's stance on the upcoming fiscal treaty referendum.

It's understood he will still attend the Fianna Fail Ard Fheis this weekend at the RDS in Dublin.
