Nuacht move to Connemara

RTÉ’s Irish language television news service is to be located to the TG4 studio headquarters in the Connemara Gaeltacht with an investment programme of over €2m in new technology.The Director General of RTÉ, Cathal Goan has announced that agreement has been reached with TG4 that RTÉ’s Irish language Television News service Nuacht RTÉ will originate from Baile na hAbhann in addition to the service RTÉ already provides to TG4 as Nuacht TG4.Mr. Goan described the move from Dublin as “a significant development in terms of the RTÉ commitment to both Irish language and regional development” The Connemara Gaeltacht was a positive choice of location for an Irish language news service, he said.
