NORTH GALWAY NATIVE HONOURED FOR KOREAN WAR SERVICE

A North Galway native has been honoured at the American Embassy in Dublin, for serving with U.S forces in the Korean War.

Thomas Dunleavy, orginally from Brooklawn, Kilconly was among 12 men who were yesterday awarded the Korean War Service Medal for their part in defending South Korea between 1950 and 1953.

Ambassador to Ireland, Daniel M. Rooney praised the servicemen for coming to aid of Korea in its time of need.
