Galway has yet again missed out on winning any major title in this year's Tidy Towns Competition.

The county was recognised in one regional award as Bottle bay in Oranmore was named Best Bring Bank in the west.

Milltown was declared the county's tidiest town with 294 points and was praised for its efforts in litter control.

Abbey in Loughrea was also highly commended by judges with 293 points followed by Monivea with a score of 290.
