Tourism in North Galway is set for a boost now that Tuam is to get a new Parish Centre

Galway County Council has granted planning permission to the Pastoral Council for the new centre at Bishop Street.

The Centre will contain a museum, café, chapel, meeting rooms and Hall.

It'll be built in the grounds of the Cathedral of the Assumption, Bishop Street.

County planners have attached 7 conditions to the development of the new Parish Centre.

Before the development starts, an archaeological assessment of the site must be carried out.
