The new secondary school for Claregalway is to start taking enrollments from next week.
Forms will be sent to over 100 parents in the region who expressed an interest in starting their children at the school next September.
County Galway VEC, the patron of the planned second level school, is expecting up to 120 first year students to enroll in the coming months.
The students will be housed in temporary accomodation at a site in Claregalway, the location of which will be announced before the end of the year.
The Department of Education is currently assessing sites for a permanent building which is expected to go to construction in 2014/2015.
CEO of Galway VEC, Joe McDonagh says once up and running the secondary school could accommodate up to 800 pupils.
