New app for real time bus information for Galway
Galway Bay fm newsroom - The new "Real Time Ireland" app from the National Transport Authority gives real bus times for services across Galway city and county and nationally.
Galway West Labour TD Derek Nolan says this app allows smartphone users to check at the click of a button when a Bus Eireann bus is due at any bus stop throughout Galway.
The app for apple and android phones tracks the buses on the service and takes account of traffic and delays offering genuine real time information.
Deputy Nolan says this combines with greater use of bus lanes in the city, the recently improved bus routes and further RTPI signs for a better service.
He adds there's further work to be done in improving Galway's bus infrastructure, including better frequency and quality of service.
