MOTORISTS URGED TO UTILISE ALL LANES AT CITY JUNCTION

Drivers need to familiarise themselves with the new lane design at the Briarhill junction in the city.
That's according to Joe Tansey from Galway's Transportation Unit, following complaints from motorists over the past few days.
The roundabout at the junction was replaced with traffic lights, which were turned on last Thursday as part of the N6 Improvement Scheme.
The scheme will see all roundabouts in the city become junctions like Briarhill.
Traffic at the junction this morning was backed up on some lanes and motorists have expressed frustration at the new layout.
While motorists experienced delays in travelling towards Parkmore from the junction this morning, Joe Tansey says other lanes were not utilised.
He says it'll take time to iron out problems at the junction.
