More time needed to build Castlegar nursing home

Galway Bay Fm Newsroom - More time on planning approval for a new nursing home in Castlegar, which is due to expire, is being sought. Joe and Aideen Stanley were granted planning permission to demolish the existing Caiseal Geal nursing home at School road, Castlegar and replace it with a new nursing home. Due to the economic climate and the difficult in finding institutions willing to lend, the new nursing home in Castlegar has still not been built. However, work began in February and efforts towards completion of the new 40-bed nursing home are well underway. Planning permission is due to run out in March next year, but the owners are hoping to extend that.
