MINISTER OPENS BALLINASLOE COMMUNITY CRECHE

The Minister for Children has described the new community creche in Ballinasloe as an 'important asset' for the community.

Frances Fitzgerald officially opened the community creche at Poolboy this afternoon. (2:15)

The creche, which caters for up to 50 children opened in September 20-11,was built at a cost of almost 1 million euro through state and local community funding.

Speaking to Galway Bay FM news, Minister Fitzgerald said the creche offers an important service in Ballinasloe.

The Minister will conclude her visit to Ballinasloe at the youth cafe at the Marina Point where it will be renamed the Vault Youth Space.
