MENLO MAN ESCAPES PRISON SENTENCE FOR GROWING CANNABIS

Date Published: 22-Feb-2013

A Menlo man who cultivated his own crop of organic cannabis plants in his attic, has been given a chance to carry out community service instead of a prison sentence.

39 year old Michael O Hearain, Menlo Cottage, Menlo pleaded guilty to the possession of drugs for sale or supply to others at Menlo Cottage on October 26, 2010, when he first appeared before Galway Circuit Criminal Court last October.

Facts relating to the cultivation of cannabis plants and opium poppy plants at the address were also admitted.
