MEETING TO DISCUSS CHANGEOVER OF KIRWAN ROUNDABOUT

Date Published: 23-Apr-2012
Local area Councillors are to meet with Galway Transportation Unit early this week to discuss the future of the Kirwan roundabout at the Menlo Park hotel.
It follows a series of discussions with council executives to debate the options available for the proposed changeover to a signalised junction.
These include either changing the Menlo Park exit or altering the Sandy Road/Liosban leg.
City Councillor Michael Crowe says he supports the overall N6 proposal and the changeover at Briarhill has already proved to be successful.
However he fears that failure to make a decision on the Kirwan roundabout may delay the overall N6 plan.
