MEDTRONIC TEMPORARY LAY-OFFS DISMISSED AS 'STANDARD'

Medical devices company Medtronic has dismissed reports of a lay-off of 50 temporary workers. In a statement issued to Galway Bay FM News within the past hour, the company says the specific project the contract workers were hired for has now been completed.It added that it is standard practice for workers involved not to have their week-to-week contracts renewed and that workers would have been aware of this. On a normal month the company can gain or lose twenty workers or so a spokesperson added. It's full-time workforce of over 2000 employees is not affected.
