MAN REMANDED ON CONTINUING BAIL OVER CITY RAPE

A 43-year-old city man has been remanded on continuing bail charged with the rape of a young person in the city over twenty years ago.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faces five sample charges of rape and 21 sample charges of indecent assault on various dates between January, 1982 and June, 1987.

Judge Mary Fahy remanded the man on continuing bail to appear before the court again on October 26th for service of the Book of Evidence.
