MAN DENIES 50 CHARGES OF CHILD ABUSE IN GALWAY

A 72 year old man has denied 50 sample charges of child abuse allegedly carried out on two young Galway girls over thirty years ago.
The man, who may not be identified for legal reasons, faces 50 sample charges of indecently assaulting his neighbours two daughters on various dates between 1968 and 1978 at a location in County Galway.
He also denies one charge of sexually assaulting the younger child.
His trial opened at Galway Circuit Criminal Court today.
