MAJOR MEDICAL CAMPUS PLANNED FOR ATHENRY

A major medical campus is in the pipeline for Athenry.Martin Maloney and the Western Alzheimers Foundation have submitted plans for the development at Farnablake to the County Council.The plans for the site, close to the existing Alzheimers day care centre in Athenry, will include an enclosed walking corridor to the existing unit.The extension will provide 10 additional en-suite bedrooms and staff area.Also included in the plans is a residential nursing home, with 54 bedrooms, dining facilties, aswell as a wellbeing facility with a swimming pool, sauna, hair salon, therapy room and doctors surgery.There will also be a community hall for associated social events and 46 single storey sheltered housing units.
