LOUGHREA PUBLIC MEETING AGAINST HOUSEHOLD CHARGE

A local campaign against the household charge will be launched in Loughrea next week.

The public meeting is being organised by local residents and community activists who are unhappy about the 100-euro charge introduced by the Government.

The meeting is aimed at people living in Loughrea, Gort, Ardrahan, Athenry, Monivea, Ballinasloe, Portumna and surrounding areas.

It'll take place at 8p.m next Tuesday, January 24th at Kinsella's Bar, Main Street, Loughrea.
