LOCAL POLICING FORA TO BE SET UP IN CITY

Local area fora to deal with criminal matters in each electoral area of the city will be set next year.

The fora, representing City East, City West and City Central would meet up to four times a year, and provide reports to the city joint policing committee.

The groups would be made up of community Gardaí, local councillors, a community warden, the tenant liaison officer and community reps.

It's also being proposed that each fora hold at least one public meeting a year.
