JURY ACQUITS GP OF DANGEROUS DRIVING CAUSING DEATH

A jury has found a GP Not Guilty of dangerous driving causing death, following a five day trial at Galway Circuit Criminal Court.

50 year old Dr Devi Chalikonda of the Ashes, Cnoc an Glas, Spiddal, had denied the charge which caused the death of 67 year old Eileen O'Halloran at Cregboy on August 28th 2007.

The jury took just under three hours to find Dr Chalikonda not guilty of the charge at Galway Circuit Criminal Court.
