Jose Gonzalez @ Black Box

Jose Gonzalez comes to Galway on Saturday, April 5. The Swedish singer is probably best known for is cover of Heartbeats, originally performed by his compatriots The Knife’s. Gonzalez's scaled downversion was used in a commercial for Sony’s Playstation 2 in which thousands of coloured balls bounced through the streets of San Francisco. He has also performed versions of Massive Attack’s Teardrops and has even turned his hand to re-working Kylie Minogue songs. Live, Gonzalez gives new meaning to the phrase 'quiet is the new loud’. His shows are intimate affairs, which a pin drop could ruin. However, his performance is one that will reward a patient audience as there are not many acts brave enough to do what Gonzalez does.Tickets for the Black Box show are €25 and are available at the Town Hall, 091-569777,
