The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, says Galway can effectively become a 'start-up' county.

Richard Bruton made the comments as he visits the city today for a series of engagements, which included a forum with businesspeople from the West at the Clayton Hotel this morning.

Minister Bruton outlined the Government's Action Plan for Jobs at the forum which was chaired by Minister of State and Galway East T.D, Ciaran Cannon.

The Jobs Minister is now visiting Ballybane Enterprise Centre and will hold meeting about the establishment of the Galway Local Enterprise Office.

He'll also launch the City of Galway promotional video at City Hall on College Road.

Speaking to Galway Bay Fm News, Minister Bruton says the LEO office could promote Galway as a county for 'start-ups':

Chair of the Action Plan for Jobs business forum, Junior Minister, Ciaran Cannon, says business people in the West are concerned about securing finance.

Minister Bruton says jobs are being created in Galway but the banks need to do more.
