JOB LOSSES CONFIRMED AT MEDTRONIC GALWAY

Up to 30 jobs will be shed at Medronic Galway as part of a cut in its worldwide workforce.The medical devices company is cutting almost 3 percent of its work force, in businesses whose growth has slowed.The company confirmed today this represents 1,100 jobs worldwideA Medtronic spokesperson has told Galway Bay FM News the impact of the worldwide job cuts will be very limited on Galway as most of the planned 1100 job cuts will be in the US.However the company has admitted it's planning to lose up to 30 jobs through voluntary redundancies here.
