JIGSAW OFFERS SUPPORT TO GALWAY YOUTH ON BULLYING ISSUES

Date Published: 30-Oct-2012
Jigsaw Galway has appealed to young people across the city and county to seek support if they feel they are being targetted by bullies.
The group based at Fairgreen in the city is part of a national network supported by Headstrong, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health.
The appeal comes following the death of 13 year old Erin Gallagher in Donegal on Saturday night - she took her own life after allegedly being sent abusive messages on a social networking site.
Jigsaw Galway provides a free and confidential support service for young people aged 15 - 25, with a drop-in centre on Fairgreen Road.
Sarah Simkin of the group says parents and guardians can support young people by encouraging them to share their concerns.
And a reminder that young people can contact Jigsaw by calling 091 - 549252, that's a Galway number 549252.
