A TELEVISION programme to be aired tonight (Friday) will document the journey of two Galway bus drivers – one Irish, the other originally from Turkey – as they travel to the homeplace of the Turkish native who has now settled in Galway City.The Welcome to My World series features immigrants who invite an Irish friend to accompany them back on a visit to their home as a means of enlightening them on their culture and their background.The first programme in the series, which will be broadcast at 7.30pm this evening will feature Turkish national, Kenny Ipek and his colleague, Mike Waldron, both of whom work as Galway bus drivers.Speaking to the Galway City Tribune, Mike said the trip was enjoyable and that it really opened his eyes to where his friend grew up and what his life was like before he came to Ireland. “I have...
