Irish rail reduces Oranmore fare following criticism
The long-awaited train service began in July this year, and fares were in the region of €8 for an adult return journey, and €4 for a child. The prices were criticised by Galway West TD Brian Walsh, who claimed the service was 'in danger of becoming a ghost train' unless Irish Rail reviewed its fares. The new €6 fare has been welcomed by Deputy Walsh, who says it will encourage more people to use the service.
