Invite to Galway City's Outset Gallery for opening of OXO winter exhibition

Galway city's Outset Gallery is currently putting the final touches to Ireland’s largest winter open-call exhibition, OXO.
Running from November 6 to January 24 in the gallery at the Cornstore on Middle Street, this year's OXO will showcase a diverse selection of original artworks from emerging and established Irish and international artists in what has become a highlight of Galway's visual arts calendar.
This is the fifth OXO show and the first one being held in the Outset Gallery’s newly redesigned exhibition space.
With more than 170 original artworks by more than 150 artists, it's one of the largest shows in the event's history.
OXO gives viewers an opportunity to discover and purchase unique, original artworks while directly supporting artists at every stage of their careers. A series of awards, which are supported by local businesses and arts organisations, also recognise outstanding artistic practice. The prizes will include cash, solo exhibitions and dedicated showcases at partner venues across Galway.
This year's OXO will open on Friday, November 6, from 6-9pm at the gallery in the Cornstore. There's an open invite to the free event, which will feature live music and complimentary refreshments.
Due to the popularity of the event and limited venue capacity, entry to the Cornstore will be via the Cross Street entrance only.
Admission to the OXO opening is free, but pre-registration is necessary. This can be done at eventbrite.ie – key in OXO opening night – and registrations will be checked on arrival.
