HSE WEST TO OUTLINE COST CONTAINMENT MEASURES

The HSE West is to meet with trade unions today to discuss how the 46 million euro budget deficit is to be tackled.
It follows a difficult weekend for staff at University Hospital Galway who struggled to cope with large numbers of admissions at the emergency department.
Management also had to take the unusual step of opening up the medical assessment unit, which normally opens Monday to Friday.
