HSE WEST 14 MILLION OVER BUDGET

The HSE West is currently running 14.4 million euro over budget.

This is despite a 32 million euro cut in spending compared to 2011, and a reduction of at least 585 staff since December of last year.

Assistant National Director of Finance Liam Minihan told this week's meeting that while progess was being made to curb the budget, he was not looking forward to next year's budget.

Year on year spend has reduced by 32.1 million euro, and whole time equivalent staff have been reduced by 585 since December 2011.
